Trick riding
Trick riding is an amazing sport. It takes hard work skills and ALOT of balance! But that's not all you have to have a trustworthy horse. When most people think of trick riding they might think only of the rider, but the horse is the other 50%. Trick horses are trained with voice commands for each gait.(Whoa=halt...) They also have to be able to be perfectly calm with a rider swinging all over their back while galloping around a ring. But trick rider + trick horse = A perfect match of trust and fun. Here are some pictures of horses and their riders.
This is a trick riding saddle, some way 80 pounds! There similar to western saddles but have many adjustments for it's trick rinding purpose.

Treats
Horses are like humans, we all like different things some horses like apples some don't, some horses like mints, some don't. I know a horse, who the first time I gave him a mint, bit it in half, the stuck out his tongue and let the two pieces fall out of his mouth, he's a funny horse. He does accept the mints as a reward but just spits them out after. I've never met a horse who didn't like carrots though, I think that's a winner.

Natural horsemanship
Natural horsemanship is a fun and safe way to work with horses. I love natural horsemanship. We don't use bits or whips. Here's a really, really good natural horsemanship place called Partridge Horse Hill, formally known as LFEquestrian or Lindsey Forkun Equestrian. Lindsey is amazing at what she does. She's trained all of her horses and they're such great horses. Visit her website on the left.

Biting and kicking
Have you ever been bitten or kicked by a horse? I have. If you have, you know how it hurts. There are ways to avoid it, such as not standing in a horse's blind spot or by doing something that ticks them off. If you are riding in a competition or just walking and you see a horse with a red ribbon tied to its tail, be sure to stay away from that horse because that means he or she is a kicker.

horse breeds
Horses are amazing creatures
. They can run miles with a human on there back and jump over fences . For thousands of years horses have been loyal to humans
,but some humans don’t treat horses properly like Samson a horses at
Harrogatehills he was one of the horses who are friends with the race horses and
that calm them and keep them from getting to hipper but Samson was not treated
well so now his hooves are too long .
Thoroughbred
: oh the races the cheering, the thunder of the horses hooves but the main
thing is not the jockey not the trainer but it’s the horse . The nimble young
yearling with strong legs and muscles . Two of the fastest racehorses ever
were “Secretariat” half a mille in 47seconds.
Quarter horse : The quarter horse is
called the quarter horse cause they are the fastest horse that can run
the QUARTER mile. They have bigger hind quarters (bottoms).
Draft horses : Draft horses have a big heavy
,strong body .They are built to pull heavy things . They have big stocky and
very strong legs.
Mustangs : Mustangs are wild horses they
live in numbers of places but cowboy are caching them or selling them for money
.the lives in bands of 6 or 7 with one stallion and all the others are mares or
foals.
